What is Meditation? Everything it seems
Meditation is something I have always been interested in, but never really grasped. Some blogger posted a link to this book on stress reduction The Millionaire Meditation and I had to click.
I only spent about 10 minutes reading the pertinent information in the book. Did I only spend 10 minutes on the book because it wasn’t any good? No, the book seems good, but reading the preface made something click.
I already get the benefit of meditation from lots of things I do. And that is what the book is about. Meditation isn’t about sitting on your ass humming, it is about focusing you mind so you can relax mentally and physically. What do you think I do while I swim back and forth staring at the bottom of a pool for a hour?
The book is about all the alternatives to traditional mediation that help people relax. For someone who hasn’t found an easy way to relax their mind, this book might be a great source of ideas to try. It also covers sitting on your ass and humming, if you couldn’t figure out that method.
There are four sections in the book. The first covers traditional methods of mediations. The other three cover artistic, athletic and social methods of meditation. More than likely, after flipping through the different sections, you will see that you already have a method to defuse stress that can be considered a form of mediation, but you have just never thought of it that way. Hopefully, with this new found knowledge, you can tap into your personal stress reliever on demand.
