General Swimming Info
If you have never swam competitively, the follow information, which applies to Lifetime Fitness’ pools, might be helpful.

If you see a pool advertised as “Olympic Sized” it is one of three sizes. 25 yards, which is the most common in the United States, 25 meters, which would be typical indoor pool in most of the world and 50 meters. 50 meters is the only sized pool the Olympics are held in. “Olympic Sized” is more marketing than truth.
1500 meters and 1650 yards are the competitive mile distances. They are not exactly a mile as you could probably guess.
