Dining in Hawaii
We ate all too much in Hawaii. I did not experience hunger for the first 4 or 5 days we were there. When I finally did, I skipped breakfast and only had a spring roll for lunch and by dinner I was finally to the normal dinner time hungry.
Before we left, we had dinner reservations at Hy’s Steakhouse, Alan Wong’s, 3660 on the Rise, Halekulani (wedding reception) and Cafe Sistina. Lunch was Duke’s, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Cha Cha Cha, Haleiwa Joe’s and the Pineapple Room. Breakfast list included Egg’s n Thing’s, Wailana Coffee House and Cheeseburger in Paradise, all served huge breakfasts.
Luckily at the end, Brook was convinced that breakfast could be a fruit bowl from ABC and a cup of coffee from Honolulu Coffee company. Brook loves breakfast food, so it was a hard sell.
Next time around, we will probably rent a condo, which are plentiful in Waikiki, so we can do light breakfasts and prepare light lunches to take with us most days. And then only gorge one meal a day.
Think about eating 3 restruant sized meals a day. If I had been there much longer, the movie Super Size Me would have been about me.
